借助于縱折三角板，沿紙張的縱向獲得折，活動折刀伸出折頁滾筒沖折紙張，將紙張推兩個連續(xù)旋轉(zhuǎn)的折輥4之間，將所折頁帖壓實，并傳送到收帖花滾筒。按此原理進行折頁的折頁裝置稱為沖擊式折頁機。沖擊式折頁機結(jié)構(gòu)簡單，適于高速印刷，但折頁精度稍低。

柵欄式折頁原理

由輸頁裝置送出的印張4，經(jīng)過兩個旋轉(zhuǎn)的折頁輥2，輸送到折頁柵欄里，撞到柵欄檔板5時，印張便被迫彎曲成對半形折入折頁輥3中間，完成折折頁，然后將折過一折的書帖到下一個折頁柵欄里，用同樣的方法進行第二、第三折。后被送到收紙臺，完成一個書貼的折疊工作。
